I hope everyone had a
wonderful summer and enjoyed lots of family time. While it certainly does not feel like it at
the moment, cooler fall temperatures are right around the corner. Now if we could just figure out the
quarterback situation with the Redskins!
August was a quiet month for the chapter, but we did have a great
turnout for our first annual FPA NCA Night at the Ballpark on August 8th.
We have a busy schedule
of great events planned for this fall, starting this Wednesday, September 2nd with our FPA NCA Happy Hour
event at Chima Restaurant in Tysons
Corner, VA. Our happy hour events are always fun so come
out and celebrate the end of summer with your colleagues! Please click HERE for the details and to register.
We are very excited to
announce the second annual FPA NCA Community Day of Service on Friday, September 11th. We will be working directly with a local
non-profit called Home Stretch that focuses on the problem of homelessness in
the metro area. We have also arranged for assignments at Ronald MacDonald House
and Martha’s Table! We look forward to a busy day of community service! If you
are interested in giving back to your community by volunteering your time,
please click HERE for the details and to register.
We also have two fantastic luncheon programs planned for this fall. Our first fall Luncheon Program will
be held on Thursday,
September 17th at the Bethesda Country Club, featuring continuing education programs on reverse mortgages and the language of risk. Please click HERE for the details and to register.
Our second fall Luncheon
Program will be held on Thursday,
October 15th at Maggiano’s Restaurant in Tyson’s Corner. The luncheon will feature two
great continuing education programs on long
term care and investing for income.
Please click HERE for the details and to register.
And finally, we have
another great volunteer opportunity in October at the Metro Washington
Financial Planning Day event which will be held on Saturday, October 17 at the Columbia Heights Educational
Campus. If you are interested
in volunteering please click HERE for more information and to register.
Please visit our Community Calendar for a comprehensive list of upcoming events, and then add them to
your calendar!
We need your feedback
and suggestions to help us make our programs even better. Please reach out to
us with your thoughts and ideas. The
contact information for our Board of Directors is listed HERE. And please get involved
and volunteer for one of our committees.
It is a great way to make an impact and to build new relationships with
your colleagues.
