President’s Message
Rose Price, CFP®
A big thank you for the support and attendance at our
first in person luncheon in 15 months.
The resilience and support of this community continues to amaze me. It was so nice to see so many of you attend
the July 15th program at Westwood Country Club and to network and
catchup. We had over 60 in attendance
and the opportunity to hear from our sponsors and reconnect.
We have a lot going on in August and something for
everyone. We will kick off the month
with NexGen hosting their annual retreat in person. The event will be August 4
from 1:00-5:00; held in DC with two great speakers, a panel discussion on
Career Development, and a networking happy hour to wrap up the day. If you are a younger member looking to
connect with your peers, this a great program to attend.
Next up on the calendar is an opportunity to volunteer and mentor the next generation. The FPA NCA chapter in collaboration with the University of Maryland Global Campus will host a one-day virtual Financial Wellness Day. The event will be held on August 11, 2021. This program, a first of its kind, will provide virtual, free, no-strings-attached financial planning information to UMGC students, their families, and consumers across the country. Volunteers from the FPA will meet with participants for 30 minutes to answer and discuss a planning question with a UMGC student in the CFP Program shadowing. This gives members an opportunity to mentor the next generation of planners and work with those who may not be able to afford our services. For more information or to sign up, please reach out to Candace Lee at Board@fpanca.org
We will be hosting an in-person luncheon on August 12
at Westwood Country Club. We have two
great speakers lined up with 2 CFP, 2 CIMA CE credits and CPA CPE offered. Margo
Steinlage will start the program discussing the many changes in the Insurance
and Health Care industry and the role health care costs can play in retirement
as well as things to consider when selecting Medicare plans. Coryn
Rosenstock and Michael Manning will close out the program with a panel discussion
on the Differences between Maryland and Virginia Estate/probate laws.
We will have our September luncheon at Kenwood Country
Club on September 24, 2021- please visit the website for program updates.
Employers who are looking to hire - our annual Career Fair will be held on October 15, 2021 at the Dulles Hyatt. Registration is now open and sponsorships are selling out, be sure to sign up early.

on our upcoming programs. We cannot
wait to see you and catch-up.
Updates from FPA National: they will be hosting their
virtual Nextgen gathering in August. The
date for the 2-day virtual NexGen gathering has been scheduled for August
12-13. This unique and virtual
experience will arm the NexGen community with skills, lasting connections and
practical tools. Please visit FPA NexGen Gathering for more details and to register. Registration for the FPA
Annual Conference is now open and will be held in person September 22-24
in Columbus, Ohio. You can click the

If you are a new member or a seasoned member who has
not attended a meeting in a while, I invite you to attend. You will not be
disappointed. We look forward to seeing
you at our next event.
Best wishes,
Rose
