Message
October came and went too fast, but not
without some great FPA NCA events! Our
new happy hour location, Tyson’s Biergarten, also proved to be a great choice,
and it was fun to see all of you there.
We’ve got a great line-up of events to finish off the year…
On November 3, we will host another
great luncheon at Bethesda Country Club with guest speaker Rolf Kelly, CFA, Portfolio
Manager and Managing Director with Thornburg Investment Management. Rolf will present “Sustainable Investing as
Performance Investing.” In addition, we will have Hannah Ubl from Bridgeworks
to discuss “When Wealth Changes Hands.”
Hannah is a generational expert and a millennial who thrives on studying
what motivates, forms, and challenges her complex generation. Hannah has delivered her dynamic
presentations to companies such as Cisco Systems, GE Energy, Ralph Lauren,
BlueCross BlueShield and Securian. One hour of continuing education credit for
CFP® and CIMA®, as well as VA Insurance CE has been approved, and CPA CPE will
be offered. We hope to see you there.
On November 11, all of our members will have
the opportunity to give back to the community with our annual NextGen and
Members Day of Service. FPA NCA will be
partnering with Northern Virginia Family Services at their Bailey’s Crossroads
Community Shelter to make lunch for the residents, as well as sort through
their clothing sheds organizing the clothes for resident use. In addition, the
shelter could use many donations for the residents, so please review our list
of needed items, and bring something to one of our drop off locations prior to
Nov. 8. Please check our website at www.fpanca.org/events for further details.
On November 15, we will host our NexGen Study
Group. If you or a member of your office
is 36 or younger and would like to share ideas and learn with your peers, be
sure to register for this regularly scheduled study group of your NexGen peers.
We will host our final chapter meeting of the year on
December 15, which will also be our Annual Membership Meeting. We will have two
great speakers so be sure to register for this event soon as space is limited
and we always sell out.
Looking ahead, make sure to mark your calendar for January
30, 2017, which will be our Annual Winter Symposium, as well as our Ethics
Course offering. This is the largest
attended meeting of the year and will offer 7 CE credits for the day, plus 2
Ethics CE, all pending approval. Early
registration is recommended to secure your spot; sign up for this and all of
these events at www.fpanca.org/events.
I look forward to seeing you at our
next event.
Best Regards,
Dan
