2013 Winter Symposium: A Line-up of Famous Speakers

An entire day of headline speakers awaits you at the FPA National Capital Area’s 2013 Winter Symposium . We’re calling it Climate Change in Financial Planning: Luminaries Ignite Your Flame for 2013. Have you registered yet? All financial advisors should attend a conference like this at least a year to stay current with the world around them.

Set for February 1st at the Dulles Hyatt, nearly every speaker is nationally or internationally known for expertise in a particular area of financial planning. Our award winning chapter benefits from its proximity to the nation’s capital, the depth of experienced certified financial planners, as well as corporate sponsors.

We found a flood of amazing speakers from members such as Alex Armstrong, CFP® and principal of Armstrong, Flemming and Moore of Washington D.C. who was able to use her clout to bring in Greg Valliere. Mr. Valliere is an exclusive commentator for CNBC’s Squawk Box, Power Lunch, The Closing Bell and Kudlow and Company. As a Washington insider, Valliere brings exceptional bipartisan observations of the political climate and what it means for money and markets. Fidelity Investments has provided Mr. Bruce Johnstone, a legend on Wall Street. JP Morgan is bringing in Dr. David Kelly, Chief Market Strategist and Economist and frequent CNBC television guest. Charles Schwab is delivering Kathy Jones, Vice President and Income Strategist at the Schwab Center for Financial Research. Board Member Jon Yankee, CFP®, Principal at Fox, Joss, and Yankee, nominated Dr. Stephanie Kelton to speak about her research on Modern Money Theory, an acclaimed method of understanding public policy and the current debt crisis. In keeping current with the latest 2013 tax code changes, Wayne Zell, JD, attorney with Odin, Feldman and Pittman, will be delivering an in-depth analysis of taxes changes. Mr. Zell has an excellent handle on tax policy and how advisors can respond to these changes. Wrapping up the day will be Dennis Moseley-Williams, an encore presenter sponsored by our board’s Brad Pheeney from Putnum Investments. Mr. Williams will deliver a compassionate speech about “real world” relationship building on a granular level. He is exactly what our financial services industry needs today to get advisors and clients the outcomes they so desperately seek.

What’s the price for admission to such an event? It is a fraction of what one would expect at under $400! All this in the sumptuous surroundings of the Dulles Hyatt with food and snacks provided throughout the day at no additional cost.

FPA National Capital Area is the preeminent association and heart of financial planning for over 800 advisors throughout northern Virginia, suburban Maryland, and Washington D.C. For more information, visit our website. Click here to go directly to our conference registration page.

  1. Thank you for sharing. Smart individuals know that the key to a successful and stable financial future is collaborating with a qualified financial advisor. An individual’s plan may be updated periodically depending on his or her needs and the changes that so often occur throughout a person’s financial journey. One could argue that you can’t put a number on creating a stable financial future for you and your family, but the truth is you can.
