Dan Lash, CFP®, AIF®
President’s Message

We would like to thank our speakers at our event on March 17.  Ben Lewis provided everyone who attended with many outstanding ideas for working with the Media and attendees are all eligible to receive media inquiries from FPA National.  If you did not attend, the media inquiry system posted over six hundred requests to our members last year and is a great way to get your name in different media outlets.  Be sure to attend next year.

Our luncheon speaker, Mary Beth Franklin, needed very little introduction.  Her articles and books about Social Security have made her a leader on this topic.  She provided clarity to all the new rule changes with Social Security and her insights were noted by all who attended.

With the tax season upon us there will be no meeting in April; but we will be celebrating the end of tax season with Happy Hour on April 20.  This is a great opportunity to network with your peers.  I look forward to meeting you on April 20 at Chima Restaurant in Tysons.

We have more fun scheduled in May with our 23rd Annual Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 11 at Westfields Golf Course.  This is always a fun chapter event that benefits the charities we support, the main one being the Foundation for Financial Planning.  Everyone is a winner at this event, so don’t worry if you don’t play golf, it will still be a day of fun.

June 9 will be our Spring Symposium and this year’s event will be bigger than ever to help make up for our slightly downsized Winter Symposium due to the blizzard.  No snow in June and a lot of CE’s, as well as nationally recognized speakers at the June 9 event, so be sure to register soon.

Be sure to visit the events page for all scheduled meetings and to register at www.fpanca.org.  I look forward to seeing you at our next event and to warmer weather.

Best Regards,
Dan
